Our Story

The idea behind CMPRE was hatched after a great deal of brainstorming.  Christian and Matt both found themselves torn between a number of hobbies and work opportunities, but had struggled to bring them all together into a single, cohesive form.  Deep down, they both knew that if they could channel all of their passion into one model, they could achieve something really useful and unique to a lot of people.

Matt was born and raised in Maine.  He has always had a passion for cooking and has worked in the hospitality industry in various capacities for over 10 years.  In college, Matt worked in a Thai kitchen. At the time, these flavors were entirely foreign to him, piquing his interest in international cuisines and leading to further study of the foods of southeast Asia, ultimately culminating in a trip to Thailand in 2016 to learn more about the cuisine and culture.  Following college, Matt worked in and managed restaurants in Portland, Maine, gaining experience in management and operations, as well as catering and marketing strategies. Matt had always been attentive to his own personal fitness and eating habits, and wondered why so few (if any) restaurants and catered events serve health conscious foods and why consumers were not demanding this.  As though the pursuit of flavor had eclipsed the desire for healthy food. It would become Matt’s mission to prove that they two are not mutually exclusive.

Christian was born in Merida, Venezuela.  From an early age, he excelled at sports but found his calling in competitive swimming.  While training for swim competitions, Christian realized the importance of hardwork and perseverance.  Shaving just seconds off of competition times may seem miniscule, but a great deal of hard work goes into making that progress that brings one closer and closer to the end goal.  In 2014, Christian moved to the United States to pursue an education in Information Technology in Portland, Maine. It was here that Christian also found a calling in teaching Zumba.  The social setting and camaraderie of this type of group fitness allowed him to share his passion with others, while at the same time becoming more and more interested in physical fitness and group coaching.  It was during his time in Maine that he met his future husband, Matt.

Together, the two have a passion for food and fitness and seek out the best from both worlds.  Finding creative ways to enjoy their favorite foods while maintaining health goals in a world that is filled with marketing and misinformation.  Our goal is to help you do the same.
